SES GSA CONSTITUTION
Name of Organization:
Graduate Student Association of the School of Economic Sciences
Purpose and Objectives:
To give the graduate students of the School of Economic Sciences an opportunity to interact, promote agricultural economics, and to create an atmosphere to explore and research new and innovative topics.
Qualifications for Membership:
Full voting members: All graduate students in the School of Economic Sciences.
The Graduate Student Association of the School of Economic Sciences is open to all graduate students within the school regardless of race, religion, sex, age, color, creed, national or ethnic origin, physical, mental or sensory disabilities, marital status, sexual orientation, and status as a Vietnam-era or disabled veteran.
Sources of Financial Support:
- Deposit (refundable) for access to graduate lab computers and printers, and department copy machine.
- Charge per page of copy from department copy machine.
- Charge per page of print from printers in the graduate lab.
The balance of this club's FS&A account will never be allowed to become overdrawn.
Officers:
The following officers will be elected by confidential nomination, where self -nomination is allowable. In the event that more than one person is nominated for a position, an election will be held where a simple majority of confidential votes will win the position. Furthermore, officers are required to maintain School and University requirements of grade point average and remain in good academic standing.
President
The President will preside over meetings, will attend monthly faculty meetings, and make appointments to school committees.
Vice-President
The Vice-president will assist the president, take the place of the President when absent and attend monthly faculty meetings as requested by the president. He/she will also keep a record of meetings and activities.
Treasurer
The Treasurer will collect the deposit dues and semester copy/printer charges. He/she will keep a current record of RSO Funds (i.e. deposits and charges).
Parliamentary Procedures:
Revision of the constitution and/or addition of amendments will be submitted to members for approval by 2/3 majorities. Other actions will require approval by a simple majority of members voting.
Those members holding office with the Graduate and Professional Student Association or Graduate and Professional Student Senate cannot hold an office in the club.
